The UAE is taking another step way of toward being the best place for employment, investment, entrepreneurship, education, and living schemes by revamping its entry and residence system.
The UAE has introduced new visa that include the introduction of new types of entry visas and residence permits, as well as the expansion of Golden Visa categories.
Came into effect from 3 October 2022, the new entry and residence system, was designed to attract and retain skilled workers and global talents from all over the world, boost the competitiveness and flexibility of the job market, and foster a high sense of stability among UAE residents and families.
The Golden Visa.
The UAE Golden visa is a ten-year residence visa which enables foreign talents to live, work or study in the UAE while enjoying exclusive benefits. This extends to their immediate family.
It is available to scientists, top students and graduates, investors, entrepreneurs, humanitarian pioneers, and frontline heroes.
The Green Visa.
The UAE Green Visa is a five-year residence visa that separates employment and residency permits. The Green Visa will enable highly talented individuals, investors, entrepreneurs, and top students and graduates to sponsor themselves without having to first associate themselves with companies based in the UAE.
2022 Entry Visa Rules.
For the first time, the UAE has launched roughly 10 types of entry visas that do not require a host or sponsor for visitors to the UAE for various visit purposes. Some significant enhancements to entry visas include easing entry restrictions for all visa kinds and providing variable visa lengths that not only match the demands of visitors but also their purpose of visit. Furthermore, all entry visas will now be available for single or multiple entries, with a validity period of 60 days from the date of issuance. They can also be extended for comparable durations of time.
Multiple Entry Tourist Visa.
The Multiple Entry Tourist Visa is a five-year Tourist Visa that was introduced in addition to the ordinary Tourist Visa sponsored by the tourism establishment in the UAE. The new Multiple Entry Tourist Visa is now available to all nationalities, easing the procedure for tourists and visitors, to re-enter UAE without need of re-filing an application. The five-year visa enables tourists and visitors to enter multiple times on self-sponsorship and remain in the country for 90 days on each visit, which can be extended for another 90 days.
Job Exploration Entry Visa.
The Job Exploration Visa is mainly introduced as a means to attract skilled professionals and young talents to explore available job opportunities in the UAE.
The visa does not require a sponsor or a host and will be granted if the applicant meets the following requirements:
- Classified in the first or second or third skill level as per the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.
- A bachelor's degree or its equivalent is required as a minimum educational level.
- Fresh graduate of one of the world's top 500 universities.
Business Entry Visa.
The Business Entry Visa enables investors and entrepreneurs to explore business and investment possibilities in the UAE. The visa offers easy entry processes, without the requirement of a sponsor or a host.
Study and Training Entry Permit.
The Study and Training Entry Permit is primarily designed for people attending study and training courses or participating in internship programs. Universities or educational or research institutes licensed in the country, as well as government or private organisations, can sponsor this type of permit. A letter from the entity outlining the details of the study, training, or internship program, as well as its duration, is required.
Humanitarian Cases Residence Permits.
According to a letter issued by the UAE federal government, residence permits would be granted in particular humanitarian cases:
- “A female resident whose husband of UAE nationality passed away in the country and has one child or more will be eligible for a residence permit.
- Parents or children of a UAE citizen who holds foreign passports.
- Spouses and children of Gulf Corporation Council (GCC) state citizens who hold foreign passports.”
